d stories mite b as old as getway of ndia bt its the maner DB tells his stories sets LSD 1 of its kind.

story 1 is abt a film makng institute student, his assgnment and his first luv & ofcorse the Adi Sir (Aditya Chopra - the god of modern day romance) d stry takes place thrugh student's handheld cam which he uses 4 his film making....
a juvenile love den a marrige etc etc....havnt we seen it b4? NO not dis one...specialy the climax of this story, it's so disturbing...
...story 2 is thrugh a supr market CCTV camera...a simple supr market worker, CCTV opertr & shop scandl....

a big salute (a GRAND salute) to DB 4 his effrts...who just giv a damn to convential mode of film making & stry telling....all he got are 3 stories 2 tell...attched wid a small cmmn thread and the style in whch he wan2 convey it...
a special mention of Ektaa Kapoor who apparently is a producer of this movie...the most conservative producer is behind the most unconvential cinema India has ever produced. Ekta i forgive ur 100 tulsi and parvati bhabhsi for givng us LSD..

I simply cant rate or review ths movie bcoz i still got its hangover

And the award goes to...

7 March was an award night...first on Sony TV with our very own filmfare and then with Oscars.

Now being the oldest in the business; Filmfare still has some respect in Bollywood and I particularly like it for Saif and SRK. Yes, they often kick some serious ass while hosting it and this year was no exception.

This post is not here to dissect each and every award offered at Filmfare this year, what particularly striking is an Award for Best Story\Screenplay and Dialogue...all three went to 3 Idiots.

I hardly ....hardly miss any movies to watch but somehow 3 idiots just did not happen to me. I watched it after 2 months, yeah it is a GOOD and well made movie. Quite entertaining and full on timepass but that's it. What surprised me is the all hoopla around the movie.

Some of my friends said that it's the best movie ever made in India....sorry but that's just too much.

First and foremost...it's 5 Point Someone and I think they did not give the due credit for the author. And top of that Raju Hirani accepted the best story award for it...cmmon Raju, have some respect!!!!

The centre idea, premises and all twists and turns are straight out of the book. And frankly the part added for the movie is either too lame or too melodramatic. The otherwise believable characters from the book becomes HEROS in movie, no complaint about it...but when throughout the movie; you cry for Innovation and originality, have some in your movie too....

3 idiots is too pretentious....most of the fun part runs on shoulder of 5 point someone...when it isn't it's either going on Munnabhai way or Taare Zameen Par way....when it's neither ...it's simply boring.

ViruS character is awesome but it's largely an enhancement of Raju Hirani's very own J(dot) Asthana from Munnabhai MBBS. Ryan from the book becomes Rancho here and loses it's charm. Aamir looks younger but talks a lot (on and off the screen), Madhavan and Sharman remains sidey for most of the movie part. Book's Karthik character is extended here as Chatur and it brings some genuine laughs.

The only original scene can be described with Mona Singh's delivery with vacuum cleaner...and yeah I liked it...(Finally something innovative) otherwise it's collection of really good forwards than you get on e-mail every now and then.

Inspiration isn't a bad thing ;-) and Again the movie is really good. But certainly all is not well.

We want SINGLE!!!

I have never seen a SIX was so unappreciated or a well knocked fifty went totally unnoticed. There was a guy hitting balls to boundaries and all the people were chanting for a SINGLE.

Sachin's 8 balls wait from 199 to 200 was truly agonizing. Thanks to Dhoni who made Sachin's double ton more dramatic. I really wanted to know that what was he thinking???

OK, we all know it's a team sport and individual records hardly matters. But someone please tell MSD that when it comes to Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar...there is hardly ...hardly anything matters....
That's why when someone asked the score of the match we said...it's 200!!

My Name is Khan and I will make you CRY

Watching MNIK is like getting those chain mails, which says forward this to 10 people or bad luck will hit you. Now if you forward it, there are people who will laugh at your stupidity and If you don't, you are always scared of getting 'bad-lucked'. I heard two extreme views about the movie, there are some who just loved it and in fact cried during some emotional scenes and there are few who just hated it to the core. So to get to the point, I HAVE TO watch the movie and here it goes.

I neither liked it nor hated it, it's just in between of these two. Let's look at it in this way, you go for a lavish 4 course meal, you liked the starters, you liked the desserts and even the restaurant ambiance is beautiful but the main course is so bland and really hard to digest. This is how you would feel while getting out of cinema hall.

There is Muslim guy called Rizwan Khan (SRK) and there is a Hindu single mother Mandira (Kajol), they meet in San Fransisco..fall in love, get married and then 9/11 stuck.

We all know, how America changed after 9/11 (and haven't we seen it all in Kurbaan, New York etc etc.)....Mandira's 13 yr old kid fall victim to post 9/11 Muslim hatred and that thrash the world of Rizwan. He has got a simple message for US president that 'My Name is Khan and I am not a terrorist.' and movie is about his journey.

Now the storyline is as simple as it gets, but when we have Karan Johar in director's seat we can't get away so easily. He make SRK stammer, Kajol to go all loud and brings every cliche' to make you cry. Honestly, movie holds good till interval. But then it just wanders as directionless as Rizwan in the movie. The lowpoint is hurricane hit town in Georgia. Goshhh!! it's just too much to take.

The movie works partially and mostly in pieces and creates strictly OK impact. The chemistry between SRK and Kajol is still alive and kicking. SRK's Rizwan is not as lovable as Mohan Bharav or not even as Kabir Khan, his Asperger's syndrome used just as a gimmick. And story could have been the same without it. Kajol's Mandira has very little to do, but her outburst can bring a lump in your throat. Music, Cinematography and other technical aspects are top notch and that we always expect from Dharma Production.

The movie make a conscious effort to make you cry, that is so evident and too painful to watch....perhaps as painful as second half of the movie. Now forward this review to 10 people and you might not get to watch next Karan Johar movie. Failing to do so bring a big bad luck and you end up getting stuck in lift with Uday Chopra. Take your call!!!
